Library updates:

For all my talk in earlier posts this year about consistency and writing/posting the Library Missive every week, boy, I sure almost didn’t do that this week. I don’t have much to share this week, because I haven’t finished reading anything and I haven’t been writing as much as I would like. I’m definitely still working out the balance of work to social events to quiet time, and my reading and writing time has suffered as a result. I also had to stand two on the train two of the three mornings I went to the office this week, and it was too packed to get my book out of my backpack.

There should be cars for readers on the LIRR——quiet, plenty of seats, no cramming and jostling. LIRR workers apparently might go on strike starting next week, so I might have plenty of time to daydream about that.

You know it’s been a slow week when I start waxing philosophical about the LIRR. Anyway!

I did receive two books this week, neither of which I’ll be counting toward the overall Library count because I didn’t purchase them; they were gifts. Two lovely agents shared some client titles and I’m so excited to read!

(But scroll down to see three books I did buy, because even if I miss a missive here or there, I will always be consistent in my book-buying habits.)

I think that’s all I’ve got for this week. I’m hoping to have at least one book review next time around; send me all your best thoughts and prayers that I find the time to make that happen.

Closing thoughts:

Being busy can be good for your mental health, but also make sure to reserve time for the things that are important to you.
